Who are we? Our brief portrait.

Switzerland Cheese Marketing AG (SCM) is a non-profit organisation and the internationally active competence centre for Cheeses from Switzerland. The SCM headquarters are located in Bern (Switzerland). There are also SCM branches in the key export markets of Germany, Italy, France, Benelux, Spain, the Nordic states (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark) and the UK. SCM offers its shareholders country-specific services in the fields of marketing (B2C and B2B marketing), communication and public affairs. In addition, SCM advises its shareholders on legal, technical and marketing issues, and acts as a coordinator for the industry as a whole. The SCM is also responsible for controlling licence applications, i.e. through carrying out inspections.

By combining the powers of all the actors in the industry, and thanks to experienced knowledge of the market and a local presence, the experienced SCM team plays a key role in promoting sales of cheeses from Switzerland. SCM acts as a neutral and comprehensive port of call for the entire cheese industry.

What we do. Our activities.

The activities of SCM encompass all of the instruments from the marketing mix – from classic advertising to PoS activities to public relations and content marketing within digital marketing. All measures are based on a consistent marketing and communication strategy directed at end consumers. The aim is to create an independent image for cheese from Switzerland, which prompts an interest in trying the cheese and that anchors the fact that the best cheese comes from Switzerland into the heads of target groups over the long term. This is achieved by consistently highlighting the core values of cheeses from Switzerland. These include tradition, authenticity, a natural product, craftsmanship, the original Swiss origin and the unique taste. SCM supports general measures for cheeses from Switzerland, as well as variety-specific marketing for exports.

Who is involved? Our shareholder base.

The entire value creation chain for the Swiss cheese industry is represented in the shareholder base of SCM. Shareholders/members include Swiss milk producers (SMP), cheese producers (Fromate), cheese variety organisations and cheese merchants.
