Appenzeller® is only available from the Salesis cheese shop in Appenzell, at the creamery museum in Stein and directly from the Rainhütten and Spitzig Stein Alps. And, of course, from the Appenzeller® online shop. It has a silver and green label.


The term “Alpkäse” is a protected brand in Switzerland. It can only be used where strict standards concerning animal feed and production processes are met. Thus, for example, the cheese must be processed in the summer grazing pastures of Switzerland. Alpenzeller® meets these conditions.
