  • baking paper for the baking tin
  • 8-12 slices of wholemeal bread
  • topping:
  • 1 carrot, grated with a rösti grater
  • 1 piece of leek, about 50 g, cut into thin strips
  • 200 g of Appenzeller, grated with a rösti grater
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • salt
  • pepper from a mill
  • a little nutmeg

  1. 1 Lay the slices of bread on baking paper in the baking tin.
  2. 2 Mix all the ingredients for the topping and spread on the slices of bread. Bake for 10-15 mins. in the middle of the oven, preheated to 220°C.
