Ingredients

serves four (for the Raclette Adventure-Set)

Sauce:

  • 500 g of peeled, seeded tomatoes, cut into pieces
  • 1-2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 tbs of tomato purée
  • 1/2 a tsp of coriander seed, ground in a mortar, or 1/2 a tsp of coriander powder
  • 1/2 a tsp of caraway seed, ground in a mortar, or 1/2 a tsp of caraway powder
  • cayenne pepper, according to taste
  • 1 pinch of sugar
  • salt
  • 8 portions of pitta bread
  • 1 peeled and sliced cucumber
  • 8 leaves of Chinese cabbage, sliced into 0.5 cm wide strips
  • 1 bunch of sliced radishes
  • 3 shallots, cut into rings
  • 800 g of raclette cheese slices

Preparation

Sauce:

  1. 1 For the sauce: purée all the ingredients, season, and pour into a bottle.
  1. 2 Crisp up the pitta bread for approx. 5 mins. in the middle of the oven, preheated to 200°C. Allow to cool, then pack up to take with you.
  2. 3 Lay out the chopped vegetables, pitta bread, raclette cheese and sauce at the picnic/barbecue area.
  3. 4 Melt the raclette cheese over the fire in the melting dishes of the Adventure Set . Half-fill the pitta bread portions with vegetables. Scrape the melted cheese onto them and pour on some tomato sauce.
