Bacon-wrapped chestnuts with Sbrinz AOP

For 12 pieces

  • 12 bacon slices
  • 12 Sbrinz AOP rolls
  • 12 chestnuts out of the glass or vacuum packed
  • 12 sage leaves
  • Olive oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 220°C. Place bacon slices on work surface, top with Sbrinz AOP rolls, add chestnuts, roll up, fix with sage and toothpick.
  2. Set skewers on a baking tray lined with baking paper and cook in oven around 8 minutes, until Sbrinz AOP melts. Drizzle canapés with a bit of olive oil to prevent sage from drying out. Sprinkle with pepper.
  3. Serve hot or warm. Chestnuts also taste delicious if they are pan-fried with olive oil.
