Ingredients

makes approx. 36

  • 150 g of soft butter
  • 1/4-1/2 a tsp of salt (depending on the salt content in the Sbrinz)
  • 1 beaten egg white
  • 100 g of chopped walnuts
  • 150 g of grated, mature Sbrinz
  • pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika
  • 100 g of flour
  • 1/2 a tsp of baking powder
  • approx. 18 walnut halves, cut in two

Preparation

  1. 1 Stir the butter and salt until frothy. Mix in the remaining ingredients, including the spices. Add the flour and baking powder through a sieve, and stir in well.
  2. 2 Shape the dough into little mounds the size of walnuts and lay on baking paper lining in the baking tin, not too close together. Put a quarter of a walnut on each one.
  3. 3 Bake for approx. 15 mins. in the middle of the oven, preheated to 180°C. Serve either warm or cold.
